Re: Cold War Jets, 27th August 2017
Contrary to earlier postings – and with Mr David Walton’s kind permission – there will be a Cold War Jet Thunder Day on Sunday 27th August 2017 at Bruntingthorpe Airfield, Bath Lane, Bruntingthorpe LE17 5QS.
Some of the jewels of British aviation heritage will be on display and giving fast taxi demonstrations along the 2 mile runway. The participants expected: Victor K2 XM715, 2 x Blackburn Buccaneers, English Electric Canberra WT333, Vickers VC-10K ZD241, Jet Provost, plus the Delphin.
Gates open from 9am. Tickets £15 pp at the Gatehouse on the day. Children under 12 free when accompanied by an adult bearing a valid ticket.

Still says it is cancelled on the second link, so they haven't updated yet. And no Lightnings??
Cheers

No Lightnings. Its a much smaller event.bizfreeq wrote:Still says it is cancelled on the second link, so they haven't updated yet. And no Lightnings??
However, due to the unprecedented level of commercial activity on the airfield at this time, we have had to take the difficult decision to cancel the planned August Open Day which was scheduled to take place on Sunday 27th August 2017. However, whilst there won’t be a formal event on the day, we will still be exercising a small number of the aircraft. Please note that as this will not be a formal event there will not be any trade stands. Access for anyone wanting to still visit on this day will be allowed at a reduced charge of £15 per adult, under 16’s are free of charge.

Ah missed the smallprint. Perhaps removing the cancelled bit in the title and rewording it may be a good idea as anyone visiting the site that isn't privvy to this conversation may do exactly what I did and miss the bit halfway down the page that says about the smaller event.
Cheers

Re: Cold War Jets, 27th August 2017
Totally agree Mark, one stops reading after 'cancelled'.
It requires a whole new announcement starting with "CWJ * Mini-Event" still happening on blah, blah! Replacing the full CWJ Day that was cancelled due to airfield logistics.
*Anybody turning-up with a 'Cowley Rustbucket' or even mentioning the turd 'vill be shot!'
