Sunderland 2015 Airshow
Sunderland 2015 Airshow
The annual event is to be Friday 24th July 2015 to Sunday 26th July. Quick question has anyone any ideas where the enclosures are and is there any DSLR photograpy restrictions in them
Re: Sunderland 2015 Airshow
Wow not one response, I used to think that fighter control had the best knowledge base for airshow spectating. If i go i shall report back what it was like just in case the info proves to be useful
Re: Sunderland 2015 Airshow
Visited 2 years ago and found a bench just along from the static aircraft was the perfect place.
Re: Sunderland 2015 Airshow
Been for the last two years and taken a folding seat and sat just to the left of the light house (which is the crowd centre), used my 100-400 there no problem.
Cheers

Re: Sunderland 2015 Airshow
Do Sunderland use Newcastle Airport Frequencies or does the display area have a special A.T.C frequency?
Re: Sunderland 2015 Airshow
What I assume were the Blades, four Extra 300s, went over the house here in Ripon at 11.30 this morning going north, so it looks like some participants are arriving already.

Re: Sunderland 2015 Airshow
I didn't find this post so ive posted one myself. Im looking for somewhere to park. I don't want to use the P&R as its manic getting out. Im only going Friday pm.
Not sure where to park yet but hoping to get near Roker park (not the old footy stadium) in the streets.

Just heard that the Royal Jordanian Falcons arrived at Edinburgh earlier.

Yes, it was them over Ripon earlier, not the Blades!Unknown74 wrote:Just heard that the Royal Jordanian Falcons arrived at Edinburgh earlier.

Re: Sunderland 2015 Airshow
This appeared on another forum and may be of use ;
Newcastle Airport have confirmed that as in previous years a temporary viewing area will be made available on the South side for the airshow movements. The area is located on the freight way and can only be accessed by the road leading from the B6918.
Entry costs £5 per car, with all proceeds going to charity,
I'm also guessing that catering and toilets will be provided as per previous years.
With thanks to Danny B. for the original post .

I live in Murton, probably ten or so miles away, I have seen a Helicopter (probably a Seaking?) and the Typhoon GR4 fly over. They were well under the cloud base.

Re: Sunderland 2015 Airshow
Friday night was excellent, if not very grey. The aircraft were spot on, music really good and an overall awesome atmosphere. Shame my photography skills were poor. I got parked on the street at the end of the sea front. The whole evening was free.
