So who's attending? I'll be going on the Sunday, looks like a decent show.

Anyone know a good time to arrive and a good location to be?

I think that it would be a shame not to. Sat on the beach, weather looking good too.

You're allowed on the beach then? Never been to a beach show so didn't know if it was on the beach or at the railings

Hi,

Their website says that car parking is available on the beach and promenade @ £7 per car. Toilets are 20p a 'go' so pack plenty of change for a family day out!

I've never been here but did go to Southport last year and wished I'd parked on the beach instead of car parking 'inland.' Apart from having a Jet Provost almost 'run out of sky' directly in front of me ( :Wow: ) executing a roll and poor weather, it made a nice change to the usual venue.

There is a lot of stuff that I want to see:
Sally B, Pitts Special, Vulcan and Chinook. Plus the autogyro (twice), The Reds and Royal Marine Unarmed Combat Demo Team. Ice cream on the beach, BBQ and an ice cold cider! Bliss!

Think I shall be going early. I was at Cosford last Sunday before 0700hrs and there were a fair few people already there at that time.

Is the Sea Vixen ready for display or will it be missing?

The Sea Vixen hasn't flown yet. I don't get why the organisers still insist on allocating it a slot!

If it was flying AND if the Vulcan was not flying with the Hunters, I would have gone on the Saturday and watched the Vulcan display with the RR Spitfire at Wellesbourne on the Sunday.

A question to people who have been before.

I have looked at the maps and there appear to be two access points to the beach. Do you have to approach from a particular route or will all traffic be marshalled onto here anyway?

Also, is the parking on the beach to either side of the arena area or the sides and front?

I'm just deciding on what to pack in the car!

IIRC, the only road that is closed off is the Marine Parade (closest to de beach), and even then its only a section of it, can't remember exactly how much.. Other than that all the beach car parks are used as per a normal day. But they do tend to get busy quite quickly.

With regards to car parks, I have always parked on the beach, but if it is anything like last year on the Sunday with the Vulcan being the last flying display, it took me about two hours to get out.
Saturday wasn't so bad, as people starting to drift away after the Red Arrows, and I also stopped and watched the static helicopters depart from the beach lawns. So if I remember rightly Saturday I drove out no problems.

Thanks for that seven and Alfie.

I'm not that bothered at leaving early as I plan to watch the Whirlwind depart but have you any idea what time the beach car parks open?

Sunday weather still looking good :thumb:
