Re: Sywell Great War Airshow - Sunday 17th August
It is a lovely airshow. It is only every two years though.
It will have a gate of, I'm guesstimating, 15000 and a sellout could be on the cards this year.
All profits go to Air Ambulance.
Details on Sywell website.
I've ordered my tickets!

Re: Sywell Great War Airshow - Sunday 17th August
Sywell has now sold out
Taken from their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sywell-A ... 5633455319Due to unprecedented demand the Sywell Airshow, to be held on the 17th August 2014 has now sold out! This means that advance tickets only will permit entry and there will be no on the gate sales. The airshow team, entirely made up of volunteers would like to thank all those who bought tickets in support of the show which raises funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and other local charities. A spokesman said " we have been amazed by the popularity of the show and are delighted to have sold out! However traffic on the day will be extremely heavy (if you can - please car-share!) and we implore people NOT to come unless they have a ticket already as there will not be any 'on the gate' tickets for sale. With such a popular event we must remind people that the Police will be patrolling the perimeter of the airfield and any illegal parking may well prove to be expensive for you! Listen out for regular traffic updates thanks to our friends at BBC Radio Northampton!"

Damn it was hoping to get tickets when I get paid in a couple of days Now the big question, are there any places to watch from outside where you can park safely without the fear of getting a parking ticket? Any info is much appreciated.

Several aircraft participating often hold over Pitsford Reservoir. Or you could go to Sywell Country Park. I guess plod will be on the ball keeping roads clear of parked cars.
When the Vulcan was scheduled to appear a couple of years ago the whole area was gridlock.

Thanks for the info, both places look a fair distance from the airfield though? Looks like i may have to try and find somewhere to park and have my bike in the back of the car and find a spot a bit closer if i can. Or just not go now havent quite decided what to do yet
