It will indeed and we are here and listening, especially as forum interaction contributed positively to the success of the 2012 air show. If you have not heard about the new 'Cosford Club' enclosure for aviation enthusiasts, please visit the air show website. The 2013 event was launched on 15 Nov and already announcements are being made about the many new aspects to the 2013 air show event. Behind the scenes, the team are working very hard to change the face of the cosford event and it is likely that barriers obstructing the photography potential will change for the better. I can safely say already that those who view the show from afar will be missing out on some awesome ground displays.

The club enclosure sounds interesting. Is there a site map available, to show how it'll sit on crowd line ??

Thanks :)

The Cosford Club will be centred on the airfield datum point or highest point on the runway as the Cosford runway is not 'flat'. In real terms, this means just slightly east the the runway midpoint and will consist of a marquee and enclosure with private facilities. We are planning on optimising it for wet or dry weather and with a clear view in both directions. The area immediately west of the enclosure is the emergency access route and therefore free of spectators. The enclosure crowd line will be minimised and if all visitors play the game with respecting the line then obstructions will be almost none existent. The tickets are already selling fast and there only ever was 200 tickets for this facility. One ticket holder will be invited back to Cosford to experience a day in the life of RAF Cosford that is inclusive of a Jaguar aircraft rear seat taxi experience.

What time do the gates open and flying start? Unless I have been a complete clot I cant seem to see it anywhere.

Its only a small airshow in comparison to others (Waddington, RIAT, Yeovilton) so 8.30 is about right, although i'm pretty sure the other shows don't open much earlier than that.

Bought my tickets today(cheaper & closer than RIAT). Looking forward to it. 6 yr old wants to see the Lancaster & the Red Arrows(so he's sorted), 15 yr old(who wants a career on the IT side of the RAF) can chat to the Guys from RAF Careers & No 1 Radio School (Part of the Defence School of Communication and Information Systems (DSCIS) who will be there. A Craft Fair for OH & the Museum to go into if it rains!!
Also To quote from their website " there will be Cold War Harrier Exhibit – a full mock-up of a Cold War era Harrier GR3 complete with deployable Harrier Hide setup & a Afghan Village – utilising RAF Cosford’s Deployed Operations Training Area, the RAF Regiment Training Flight will be putting together a mock Afghan village for members of the public to tour around. Providing an insight into everyday life on current operations, the Afghan village exhibit is sure to be a popular attraction."

Cosford have sold double the tickets to last years show, so with the weather been sunny and the lure of the vulcan, i would get there as early as you can. You dont want to end up in the overflow carparks behind the hangars, plus last year the police closed the slip road once the 18,000 car park spaces were taken
