Quick visit to Culdrose 26/1/17
A really cold and blustery day so didn't stay long. Two Hawks departed together XX303 & XX330 (?), other than that, nothing much happening. One Merlin parked outside ZJ128 coded "M" and a Sea King and four Harriers parked in the centre of the field, along with two F-35 mock ups. A couple of shots, apologies for the poor quality, a 500mm lens poking through a hole in the fence..

You were extremely unlucky not to catch the Aurora that's been operating from CU all week.
Also just a friendly warning but photos posted in this area haven't exactly been appreciated by some members in the past so you might wish to move them, that said hope you enjoyed your visit.

Nice to catch the plastic F-35 out on the Dummy Deck.
There's been 4 delivered in total.. as dave has said. You were unlucky not to catch the CAF Aurora
I'll secound what he's also said about the photos being posted in this section. I'm more than happy to veiw them here, but it seems in the past its been the course of one or two arguments! And probably explains why the section is now so quiet and rarely posted in!
Thanks for sharing anyway.

Hi Josh & Seafire, thanks for your comments. is there a specific reason why photos aren't welcome here or do ALL photos have to be posted in a certain part of the forum? More than happy to comply, but I really can't understand why anyone would get ratty about it.

All I'll say is check the history of this section to see why, I don't personally have any problems with it but photos posted outside of the photography section especially here has caused some rows in the past.

Re: Quick visit to Culdrose 26/1/17
It's the rules simples.
I think it's a good rule because if you are mobile on limited bandwidth then you might not want photos.
But it's good to see a log from Culdrose. I always post something on my rare visits to the wild West

Re: Quick visit to Culdrose 26/1/17
OK, thanks for the explanation although it seems rather daft to me to post a log on one part of the forum and then post the photos elsewhere. Thanks to a pal on another forum who tied in the registrations for me.
Sea King coded "132" - XV657
Harriers
ZE692 coded "92"
ZH802 coded "02"
ZH804 coded "003" minus its tail
ZB603
There's also a Sea King parked (permanently?)by the airfield fence line just to the left of the first roundabout as you come out of Helston on the A3083 which is XV673

G'day Graham
They says that "you learn something new every day".
Reading this thread answers my question, "why is this thread locked? ".
viewtopic.php?f=55&t=141771. All I was trying to do was bring a little sunshine to a dismal day.
More importantly (to me) thanks for the images. I hadn't realised the point about bandwidth, not having such a device.
Cheers
