PARTICIPATION UPDATE:
Merlin HC4 - Royal Navy (Static)
The Commando Helicopter Force's (CHF's) newest equipment will make its Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton Air Day debut on Saturday 8 July. First flown last October, the Merlin HC4/4A is the now-retired Sea King HC4 replacement. CHF will ultimately have a 25-strong Merlin HC4/4A fleet spread across RNAS Yeovilton's 845 and 846 Naval Air Squadrons that will serve until at least 2030.
The Merlin HC4s are ex-RAF machines upgraded for the Commando-carrying role in a maritime environment that feature an automated folding tailrotor, a wholly digitised cockpit - bringing them up to par with the Merlin HM2 fleet - and other enhancements.

PARTICIPATION UPDATE:
P-51D Mustang – Hangar 11 Collection (Flying)
Happy 4th July! We're marking US Independence Day by announcing a last-minute flying addition: the legendary North American P-51 Mustang. One of the best fighter aircraft of all time, the Mustang famously took just 102 days to design, develop and roll-out. Extensively-evolved and massively-produced, the type equipped a huge number of air arms but is probably best-known today for its USAAF bomber escort role. The bubble-canopied, RR Merlin engine-powered P-51D was the most numerous Mustang model. Hangar 11's example, in its 332nd Fighter Group ‘Red Tail’ markings, is among the many P-51Ds still flying. In the very experienced hands of owner Peter Teichman, P-51D 'Tall in the Saddle' will add classic American flavour to our display at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton International Air Day this Saturday.

I have just noticed there is no Great War Display Team listed anymore, and Yeovilton has been deleted from the Display Teams website as well. But one high note the Sea Fury has been listed to fly but not confirmed.

Fantastic show- with the Rafale Duo the undoubted standout act, truly amazing routine. (Probably better than Ramex Delta- which is saying something!!)

As with Cosford, the addition of the museum aircraft really adds to the static line.

Agree with the above, aside from the heat, a truly fantastic five hours of aerial action! Czech Gripen, Danish F-16 & French Rafale Duo being the stars. :thumb:

Agree with above comments, superb show. Time just shot by. French Duo were excellent and I also liked the Danish F16, he pulled fluff for nearly his complete display. :D

My vote is for the RDAF F-16 pilot. His practice on Friday just pipped the French and then his re-arrival in formation with the two Lynx was the icing on the cake.

Too hot for me but agree that the Rafale pair, Gripen and Danish F-16 were excellent. Always great to see the Lanc and Spit as well. All were good but fast jets for me

Hard to pick a favourite really.
A fantastic day out, the Organisers are to be commended. Thoroughly enjoyed the show and will be back next year.

Cheers

Another question for those lucky enough to be inside.
Does anyone have the reg of the Swiss F-5's that flew in the display team.
Only saw them from a distance.
Many thanks
Keith
