I still can't believe the number of people who can't tell the difference between a Venom and Vampire!

Why not try a polite correction instead of a sarcastic comment!

The Vulcan carried out Two excellent practice displays at Kemble (Cotswold) airport at approx 2:30pm this afternoon whilst en route to Yeovilton.
You have no idea how disappointed I am to discover too late that this happened. Kemble's less than an hour's drive away and there will never be another opportunity. :( :'(
Sorry there was no heads up. I just make a rare good call for once at a couple of hours notice. I knew the route to Yeovilton took the Vulcan near Kemble and that they occasionally used to carry out training practice displays at Kemble when operating from the nearby RAF base a couple of years back.

It was not meant to be sarcastic, my own fault as i forgot to put in the surreptitious wink at the end-the pressures of simultaneous online browsing and gaming ;)

XH558 made the most interesting landing seen yesterday.
I don't suppose anyone has a image of the starboard u/c touching down that they'd care to share with us?

Best regards

Viewed from Pyle Lane XH558 appeared to approach the runway from a greater angle than the cross wind component might have needed and when the starboard u/c made contact, sometime after the port,it kicked up a fair amount of debris as though it might have clipped the grass. I'm not a pilot hence the use of 'appeared' and 'might'.

Looking down a lens The Vulcan seemed to be in the correct place when it landed. It streamed the parachute which was a nice photo shot for some.

I would like to thank the Organisers for such a Magic Experience. I last saw a flying Sea Vixen at Heron in November, 50 years ago.
Only the Fleet Air Arm could have put together such a great day & active Finale. Helicopters all over the shop!
Flair (and flares) & imagination! :D
Well done

Must be refuelling somewhere!
Refuelling at Boscombe Down, I think. :) Parked up there today.

I have to agree with C24. I've been going to the Yeovilton shows for nigh on 40 years and missed only a very few. Although they certainly went through a poor period 6-7 years ago, they have been steadily improving ever since, and this weekend just gone was, in my view, the best for a very long time. As an avid 'number cruncher' I relaise that my preferences will be very different to those of the 'man in the street', but I think they put on an excellent show with a great variety of aircraft in both the static and flying displays. This looks like a winning formula and would certainly ensure my continued attendance in years to come.

Hopefully the organisers are monitoring this forunm and picking up the well-sererved plaudits. I did look for somehwere on the offical show web site to pass on my feedback but couldn't find anywhere suitable. Does anyone else have a contact e-mail for the organisers?
