Time for a wishlist then!

Art Nalls Sea Harrier FA2 (Would be brilliant to finally see it over here and Yeovilton would be the best place)
French Navy Rafale & Entendard Pair (Thought the display in 2011 was amazing)
Red Arrows (Was quite disappointed not to see them there this year)
Dutch F-16 (Would like to see it back, hasn't displayed at VL since 2010)
Mid Air Squadron Canberra & 2x Hunter (Was a shame when the Canberra went tech this year so would like to see them back next year with full contingent)
Czech Hind (Was very sad to see it cancel last year so would love the Czechs to bring it next year)

You have to wonder why, with no Waddington in 2015, Yeovilton and Legends have been put on the same weekend. Surely it would have made more sense to have split them up given its highly unlikely the two shows will be sharing display aircraft. I know dates are often planned well in advance of public announcement so it may not have been possible but still a shame.

In many respects it would make more sense to split, but particularly with military airfields there are often other factors that dictate when they hold Events. In Yeovilton's case, the Air Day orders last for quite a few days and have to be timed around other commitments in the station diary.

You can at least argue that Yeovilton have stuck to their traditional July date for the last few years where possible (As have Duxford to be fair). The last two date changes (2012 & 2014) have been dictated by the London 2012 operations and the Carrier Naming Ceremony.

I completely agree from the enthusiasts point of view it is a great shame airshows clash even when there are fewer of them and disappointing when "empty slots" left by former airshows don't seem to be taken up!

Unfortunately the "date clash" suits me perfectly :thumb:

It means I can do one trip and take in two different airshows with a diverse range of participants. I have previously done both when they have been on the same weekend and also Riat and Legends when it was the same weekend.

Having them spread out means a drain on funds, which for a trip from NI proves rather expensive. Flights , accomodation, car hire etc etc and then even more if my two sons decide to travel with me.

This year will be ferrying it from dublin to holyhead then down to Yeovilton the onto to Legends and back to Holyhead. A long 4 days but imo well worth it.

Thought the thread needed Updating

Theme: 75 Years of RNAS Yeovilton, 70th Anniversary's of VE and VJ days.

Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton was commissioned as HMS Heron on 18 June 1940 and Air Day 2015 offers the perfect opportunity to celebrate the Air Station’s 75th anniversary.

Hopefully it wont be long until participation starts being announced.

Reds and RAF Typhoon have been added to the flying display. Nice to see their return after last year's absence.
