Going to be Great
V- JET FORMATION FOR AIR DAY'S VULCAN FAREWELL
The Avro Vulcan’s final appearance at RNAS Yeovilton Air Day on Saturday 11 July will include a special 'V-Jet Formation' flypast. The famed 'V-Bomber' will be joined by Naval Aviation Ltd's de Havilland Sea Vixen and the Norwegian Air Force Historical Flight's two de Havilland Vampires to present an exclusive four-ship classic British jets flight. While the Vulcan and Sea Vixen's joint flypasts were an outstanding highlight of Air Day 2011, the expanded formation will be a unique spectacle with the Sea Vixen leading the Vulcan with a Vampire on each wing. The thunderous, iconic Vulcan has participated in the majority of Air Days staged since its return to flight in late 2007. Its Air Day farewell will be a sad occasion for many, but this classic jets link-up will give the Vulcan a magnificent send-off.

Wow, can't wait. Was gutted when the Sea Vixen went tek at Bournemouth when she was booked for a pairing with the Vulcan, thought I would never see then together.
Fingers crossed

Is there a Press Preview day on Tuesday? If so, what time is it likely to start?

Thanks.

Well they're due in to Lakenheath on Thursday, so that might give you an idea.

Guys, I hope you all have a great day today.

Don't forget to come over and say hi by the Vixen.

In case any of you don't know. When the Vixen lands after its own display it will taxi to the 'show-side' where it will park behind the Vulcan.
After a shrot period both aircraft will be open to the public to view.
So please come along and say hello.
:D :D :D :D

Exact times are difficult to say just yet, but some departures will be straight after the display, there is usually some tomorrow as well, so not all will still be present by monday. All road closures are removed from tonight so the usual Yeovilton spotting protocol then applies ;)

lynnallen, i can't reply to your PM as you've disabled yours apparently? But for viewing, take a look at the excellent guide we have here: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=36903

The road closures should have gone by this evening, so you should be safe going to any of the locations there. Speckington Lane is very good, and Pyle Lane is popular with us locals (though i still can't work out why!).

Most of the interesting helicopters are in the process of moving to Westlands (Yeovil) as I type. AW149, Whirlwind, German Lynx, German Sea King all gone in in the past 20 minutes. The HH-101 appears to be shuttling to and fro.
