Latest Yeovilton updated arrived in the Inbox earlier:

PARTICIPATION UPDATE
Wildcat HMA2 – Royal Navy (Flying)
Wildcat HMA2 x 2 – Royal Navy (Flypast)
Wildcat HMA2 x 3 – Royal Navy (Static)
A rare solo Wildcat display, packed full of flares and pyrotechnics, has been added to RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day’s flying programme. The Fleet Air Arm’s new multi-mission maritime helicopter, operated by the Wildcat Maritime Force’s two squadrons – 815 and 825 NAS, will be put through its paces in an exciting role demonstration. A pair of Wildcats will also take part in a flypast with the Royal Navy’s Sea King ASaC7 as it bows out of service and three Wildcats will be available to view up close on static display. Globally-deployable, embarked in Royal Navy frigates or destroyers, the Wildcat HMA2 performs anti-ship and anti-surface warfare, ship protection, casualty evacuation and many other roles. Its features include digital cockpit displays, state-of-the-art targeting systems and a high-performance SeaSpray radar.

Avenger T1 - Royal Navy (Static)
Hawk T1 - Royal Navy (Static)
Merlin HM2 x 2 – Royal Navy (Static)
Based at RNAS Culdrose, these three types are at the forefront of modern day FAA operations and they’ll all be on show at Air Day on Saturday 7 July. See the FAA’s newest fixed-wing type, its ‘Maritime Aggressor’ and its primary submarine-hunter up-close on the ground within our extensive international static display. The Avenger T1, introduced in 2012, is used for observer training, with four examples equipping 750 Naval Air Squadron. They’re based alongside the 14 Hawk T1 jet trainers of 736 NAS whose taskings include simulated airborne interceptions and ship attacks. Also stationed at Culdrose are four Merlin HM2 squadrons. These mighty anti-submarine helicopters feature digital cockpit displays, cutting-edge sonar technology and state-of-the-art radar systems. These static aircraft will join the already confirmed Sea King ASaC7 – great support from our sister station, RNAS Culdrose!
SPOTM Winner, May 2016 (US Navy or US Marine Corps aircraft). Thanks for your votes

Really looking forward to this. Have booked seats for the Lynx enclosure, has anyone been in here and is it any good for photography?
Cheers

I was in the Lynx enclosure lat year - I booked early and had a good seat a couple of rows back on the end of the row. It was pretty good for photography, but you'll get all the big lenses swinging around all over the place, that's just part of it all though, nothing to get up tight about and it really only affects runway shots. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

This year I'm going in the Swordfish enclosure to see what it's like.

I've been in the Lynx Enclosure for the past few years, and it is great for photography - especially the further to the right hand side you are (as you look at the runway).

Take a look at my Air Day albums on my FLICKR pages: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ilminsterpix2014/albums

Booked Swordfish for first time last year. Obviously everyone has their own likes/dislikes but I thought my whole day was excellent. I have been to Yeovilton through the gates for years but certainly preferred the Swordfish experience and as soon as the tickets went on sale I booked again for this years show. Positioning is more towards the start of the runway but very happy with the photos I took.

Doesn't seem to be many fast jets in the static, it that normal from past years at this time. I take it the Greeks, Canadians, Czechs and Aeronavale will obviously bring spare frames but none of them will be in the static?

Over the last few years, there have been a few static fast jets. Some display aircraft and spares are usually parked in front of the crown, with the rest parked on the south side. If the aircraft are going to be using flares, they are the ones that are parked on the south side of the runway, but by no means do all aircraft parked on the south side use flares.
Hope this helps.
