Nice to see the a stateside C-47 making the journey over. Wonder if we may see a couple more added to the list closer to the time given the proximity to other D-day events being planned

Been thinking about this a little more today. Personally, i'm not sure that i'm a fan of having the Typhoon and Apache there. Given the warbird lineup and the main theme for the display, i would much rather see a couple of additional D-day related aircraft.
Appreciate that it may just seem like another Legends show but i don't think those two modern displays fit

There will as always be a small contingent of modern day aircraft in the spring and last show, this is to entertain the younger crowd and modern day aircraft fans that may not get an opportunity to see them anywhere else. I am quite happy seeing them they certainly bring a thrilling display to the show and since they are not a greater number they dont spoil the theme, if it did bother me I would use the display slot to go to the loo, read a newspaper, grab a bite to eat since it's time will be listed on the flying schedule.Zymurgy661 wrote:Been thinking about this a little more today. This is Duxfords spring show..so Jets and choppers will be there
They have tagged the D-Day part to it, due to obvious reasons, and added more aircraft that fit the title
How can ppl complain about a typhoon display

My reasoning is that the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Apache are there to show how far we've come from that period in time to this anniversary, so modern USAF aircraft should be there as well, for the same reasonJonesy wrote:Really? The 48th FG,one of the incarnations of the 48th FW took part Op Overlord. So you could argue they could be representedJonesy wrote:Really? For a D-Day anniversary show?paullangford wrote:Lakenheath F 15 would be a good addition

That should be it for the list with possibly a couple taken off as they might not be ready yet. It's a D-Day themed show, why would there be an F-16? You already have a Typhoon and the Pat de France. As for pyrotechnics, no way. To many people in the fields south side.

BADA have posted some info regarding the show
Not sure that will persuade people from going in to naughty field
Info from BADAImportant information for The D-Day Anniversary Air Show this weekend
The following information has been jointly released by IWM Duxford, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and the Local Land Owners surrounding Duxford Airfield.
Ahead of The D-Day Anniversary Air Show, IWM Duxford has released some important safety information:
IWM Duxford takes great care to ensure its air shows are as safe as possible for everyone involved.
It is not safe to occupy the fields immediately south of the runway during the air show. If you do so you are putting yourself and the display pilots in harm’s way.
In the event of an incident it is imperative that the emergency services have clear, unhindered access to the tracks across this land.
There is no public access to these fields at any time.

It won't!
The only way it'll stop is if the Police actually move people on & I can't see that happening.
Roger.
