Compared to Sunday it's a beautiful day!!
Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow- 22nd & 23rd September
Tickets now sold to a "lucky" (he'll probably need a big brolly and wellies!) young bloke from Kent - and I didn't rip him off price-wise; roughly what I paid for the tickets in the 1st placejeallen01 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 20, 2018 8:47 amGreat pity as we were both looking forward to Sunday, but finally decided that the weather and logistics will be against us going on, so the 2x tickets and parking permit are now on ebay (and in the For Sale & Wanted here - but with the same link to ebay) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392127432776

Made it to the queue for the bus anyway, couple of hundred people an only room for about 20 on the one that just left- this could take a while!

Got the train from Cambridge to Whitlesford Parkway, 7 minutes, and walked 20 minutes to Duxford and no wiring to get in.

A good show on Sunday, the weather was good for the time of year but sadly some participants had to no show due to crosswinds. the Tornado display was billed in the commentary as the last public display for the Tonka. Surely there must be some sort of final event for them.
Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow- 22nd & 23rd September
The clue is in the words..."as the last public display" For sure there will be a last 'hurrah' but it won't be public, oh no way!! More likely one Tornado with all the covers on, hidden behind TV Media & RAF Marham photographers, with multiple diggers & trucks in the background, judging by recent form. 'Just for the discerning enthusiast' at a mere involuntary donation of £80+ per head & your butt goes free!STN RAMP RAT wrote: ↑Sun Sep 23, 2018 8:10 pmA good show on Sunday, the weather was good for the time of year but sadly some participants had to no show due to crosswinds. the Tornado display was billed in the commentary as the last public display for the Tonka. For a extra £70 they'll empty the local old peoples Home & dress them in flight attire to screw-up your shots. If that don't work, they'll obscure the jet by waiting 'til it's dark, then using a torch with flat batteries or just blowing smoke all over it so there's no way you'll get anything worth keeping. Of course, maybe I'm wrong & it will be brilliant! but you best look-out for flyby of Pigs? (No, not F-35B's )

Really enjoyable flying display, and much credit to all involved for putting it on. The weather really played ball yesterday for photography- vapour, sunlight and dark backgrounds!
In spite of the array of quality war its displays, the highlight for me will be the farewell Tornado pass- looking at the video I did of Saturdays, it must have made for some great vapour shots from the west end on pull up!
