For those wanting to go to Farnborough go Mon-Thursday

For those wanting to go to a regular UK airshow go Fri-Sun

2014 will see an even bigger difference between trade and public displays.

I think Farnborough is getting far too expensive for what it offers now.

Sadly, a trend all too common in Rip-Off Britain.
The same way the British Grand Prix has gone - £50/60 just to get in the gate. Tickets for a seat were in the region of £350 / 400, for a stand ticket. The seats are so close together you cannot really sit comfortably. Classed as one of the premier F1 GP locations, it is probably more expensive than most, bar Monaco.
Infact you regularly hear people talking of going abroad to a race, mainly because it is just as cheap to travel and gain entry as it is to go to Silverstone!

We pay probably in the region of £2/3K more on a new vehicle purchase than we do in Europe.
Take a look at the new BMW Mini problem, of dodgy power steering (was on Watchdog recently too!) - they created a deal for all the North American customers, where they could have their vehicles checked and repaired, with an ongoing warranty up to so many thousand miles. In the UK where they are built . . . . . . no deal! Do not pass GO, do not collect your new power steering! Unless you have lotsa dosh! A 'British' car, built in UK, and subsidised by the UK too, it would seem. And we are talking about a fault which is obviously a manufacturer's defect here.
So, as I have said, no surprise there. :@
