I am at Farnborough at the moment, and have been viewing from Ullswater ave playing field, someone today thought it was a good idea to fly a radio controlled drone until it was hard to see up in the sky in the airspace above the field .

If the f-35 turns up it'll be a great show, will be great to see a Spanish harrier display. Been a few years since I've seen one fly.

That sounds like a DJI Phantom. I've been flying one since February 2013 and they're a great piece of kit if flown properly and within the CAA guidelines. The pilot should NOT have been within the NFZ :@ Image

Has the Spanish AV-8B Sea Harrier been validated for the air show?

Heard that it hasn't and wonder if it will fly this weekend.

There were two there when I visited on Tuesday:-
VA.1B-38 coded "26" in static southside
VA.1B-24 northside, presumably for flying demo later in the week (forgot to note code for that one)

Hope that helps,

Best thing I have seen all season, brought back memories of years gone by....fantastic to see a Harrier derivative in UK skies once again! Well done the Spanish Navy :thumb:

The Spanish harrier displayed today (Friday) . Boeing aren't flying anything although the P8 is now sporting a pair of harpoons under the outer pylons. Note that the exhibition halls are going to be closed for the weekend due to pilfering last year :@ (according to our courtesy car driver) and the souvenir programmes hadn't arrived as of today.

Boeing didn't fly anything today as a mark of respect to the Malaysian Airlines catastrophe which involved one of their a/c types. Also all the flags in the showground were lowered to half mast first thing this morning as a similar mark of respect.
Cheers
