Re: WADDINGTON AIRSHOW 2010!
The Waddington Website has been updated today with the Theme's for the 2010 Airshow.
This is what the Website says.
90th Anniversary of 1st RAF Air Show
Where were you on 3 July 1920 when the first ever RAF Air Show was staged at RAF Hendon? We are planning to recreate that amazing feature by flying a military aircraft from every decade since 1920 during our 2010 show. This will be a unique event and one not to be missed. Come along and see flying through the ages in one fantastic display.
70 Years Since the Battle of Britain
To commemorate this iconic period in our nation's history we are planning a re-enactment of a war time airfield attack. Hear the sirens wail as they warn of danger, feel the heat of explosions and gain some idea of the fear that must have been felt by those under attack. Experience an enemy straffing attack and watch as RAF Spitfires and Hurricanes intercept and drive away the bad guys. All this and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
35 Years of Airborne Early Warning (AEW)
It is 35 years since the introduction into service of the E3 aircraft and 20 years of RAF E3D Sentry operations. We are planning an AEW bonanza with representatives of AEW operators from across the globe exhibiting their aircraft in an amazing static display. Come along and see these large aircraft close up. A great photo opportunity.
Well We can expect some great Participation next year then.

Re: WADDINGTON AIRSHOW 2010!
They Have Updated The News Section On the Waddington Airshow Website With some information About next year.
Planning for the 2010 RAF Waddington International Air Show is already on the way; our themes are “90th anniversary of the first ever RAF air show, at Hendon”, “70 years since the Battle of Britain” and “35 years of Airborne Early Warning”.
There will be several displays to commemorate these important landmarks in our history, including a re-enactment of a war time airfield attack. Experience an enemy attack and watch as RAF Spitfires and Hurricanes intercept and drive away the bad guys!
Several top national and international display teams will perform, some of which have never been to Waddington before! We will keep you posted on developments.
Tickets and enclosure places will go on sale on 1 November.

Re: WADDINGTON AIRSHOW 2010!
Does this mean they're not planning any more operational fast jets than this year? Where would they put any on static with all the AEW participants taking up the space?
Do you think they're expecting people to reply to this question? I'll go and ask me Gran where she was, she's 91 in December. I'm sure she can remember it like it was yesterday!!airtyphoon wrote:Where were you on 3 July 1920 when the first ever RAF Air Show was staged at RAF Hendon?
I have many toys. Amongst them are a camera and a scanner.

Re: WADDINGTON AIRSHOW 2010!
This years show sounds to be the best for a long time, lets just hope it turns out that way when it come to the show weekend. There will be a higher chance to see some American aircraft in the display line up as its Farnbrough airshow this year and they always tend to have a european tour for July so they can attend the show for business reasons. Maybe the F-22 may turn up for Waddington .
I would like to see,
F-18
F-16
B-52
B-1
F-22
Rafale
Griphen
Sabre (90th airshow anniversary)
Hawker Hunter (90th airshow anniversary
Harrier (90th airshow anniversary)
Vampire (90th airshow anniversary)
E-3D NATO (35 years EAW)
Plus flypasts for each of the airshow Themes
Thanks, Cottesmore09

Also The Park and View is very good at Waddington and last year it was nearly as good as the show itself because you was able to see the likes of, F-15's, F-16's, F4 Phantom and the Vulcan ehich never flew at the weekend. Anyone thinking of going this year?
Park and View dates and times:
Thursday 1 July: 0800 - 1700 hrs
Friday 2 July: 0800 - 1700 hrs
Monday 5 July: 0800 - 1500 hrs
2009 CHARGES
£5 per person. Tickets at the gate only (not available in advance). No pedestrian re-admission.

Four aircraft which I would like to see in the flying display for 2010...
F4 Phantom
Mig 29

Auzzie F-111.... Dream on!

Re: WADDINGTON AIRSHOW 2010!
Definitely worth taking with a pinch of salt at this early stage, much like the Saudi Hawks and Indian MiG29s that they advertised as possibly attending for the '09 show.airtyphoon wrote:Several top national and international display teams will perform, some of which have never been to Waddington before!
