Announced at the same time that this year's show is pre sold ticket only. Bad timing or what.

Hope it returns in 2016

Really do hope it returns as it's the only show I'm able to attend.

Sad news as ive been traveling down to Waddo for a good few years now and with no Leuchars to attend now its my main show that i look forward to.So with that in mind there is a free runway in Fife if they want to hold the show next year

Was anyone listening to Airshow FM Sunday night when it went off air? How they were talking, it was as through they didn't expect the show to come back :( They were talking about it being the end of an era, 19 years of pure joy etc and the presenters were getting choked up. They also said it's likely the old control tower might be demolished in the rebuild work. I really hope I am getting the wrong end of the stick :(
Posh are going to Wembley (albeit for a tin cup)

Speaking with based aircrew in Horse & jockey, they confirmed no further Airshows planned for future.

Anyone who has worked in the MOD knows how these things go. Someone high up will decide when they realise how much stress on staff leading up to the airshow causes etc etc and will allow another camp to take it on. I for one am gutted. I've been to every one of them and only this year got to see how excited my 7 year old was last week leading up to it.

It takes 18 months to plan the airshow so we only have to get to the end of January to know if an airshow team is active or not. IMHO I don't think there will be one :(

I know a lot of the team read the posts on here so here is my thanks to them for all of their hard work over the years. The show got better and better over the last 4 years and I'd say certainly matched the high of the early noughties. The Waddington Airshow team, Airshow FM, and the WAVE have a unique bubble and have welcomed everyone in with open arms over the years. Thanks again.

It will be a huge shame if this is the end. Sadly I believe it is. Many hugely enjoyable hours have been spent at the show and in the PAVE. Thanks to the airshow team for many great memories.

Until we hear anything OFFICIAL im not worried! If this weekends show was the last one its a real shame, but I for one will just make the effort to travel to a far better show in Europe in the future.

I do find it rather ominous the official Facebook page has posted a link to the Save Waddington 2016 airshow epetition.

However I have just completed the online survey linked to the official Facebook page and this asked if I was planning to visit the 2016 show.

Item on Waddington website and Facebook page relating to a review of all RAF airshow commitments due to loss of next years show and Leuchars as an RAF base.

If the organisers read this, how about simply switching the show to another base, how about Leeming? The major airshows have a definite southern bias, Waddington took the show over from Finningley effectively, how about Leeming taking over the show to give us up here in the north a major airshow again instead of having to travel half way down the country. Church Fenton ended years ago, Finningley the same, Elvington was never brilliant, a northern major airshow is needed again.

Problems there could be traffic on A1; one of the reasons why there was never any big event at Wittering.

The A1 passing Leeming is now the A1M, the entire length passing Leeming is now three lane motorway and from my own experience of driving up there even on busy periods like Friday afternoon, half empty most of the time, certainly plenty of space compared with the old A1. The only downside is that the roadbuilders 'forgot' to put enough junctions in the road (Masham residents up in arms about this as they lost their junction and stuck their own sign on a trailer so that the town isn't forgotten. There isn't a junction between the A61 (Ripon) road and the junction beyond Leeming. You used to be able to leave the A1 directly at the Gatenby turnoff, Leeming airfield/Londonderry turnoff and the Bedale-Northallerton road junction turnoff.

Don't count your chickens just yet, this just for runway repairs. Also won't this give the organisers more time to prepare?. By the way how will the base aircraft going to fly, or they going to be relocated for next year to get the work done?. Many questions without more information, we don't know. Wait and see.

Just another north south divide. I for one would sooner spend money going to an overseas event then put more money in the south of this country.. Why not have one at Robin hood airport it would be like the good old days anyway rant over.. :S
