What aircraft would you like to see at RIAT 2019

Post by Red-Eye-Knight » Tue Jul 24, 2018 1:42 pm

Hello all.....I thought i would start a thread for my 1st time about what we would like to see on display or static at next years RIAT...I would love to see the A-10 demo team now that they have reformed and i would love to see an AV-8B Harrier display been years since i last saw one, Would be nice if France could send the ATL2 again this time for the whole show as its display practice on the Tuesday arrivals was very good.

Would be good to see South Korea, UAE or Malaysia return.

Think we'll just ignore the second part...

For the theme, it'd be really nice if we could see a collection of historical fighters from NATO members, thinking the likes of the Swedish Draken/Viggen/Tunnan/Lansen, Norwegian F-104, French MS.760/CM-175.
The Swedish contingent would be great to have, but not as part of the NATO theme, I'm afraid; they've never been members.... :)

The loop at the green zone end (open on the Friday) and a line of all NATO F-16s USAF/KLU/KNL/DAF/BAF/GAF/TkAF/PAF/PoAF with RAF/GAF/ItAF/SpAF Typhoons, RCAF/USN F-18s, CzAF,HuAF Gripens & FAF Rafales on the other side so all NAto fighters in one place and together to celebrate the anniversary

They've already released their 2019 schedule and they're down to display in the USA the weekend of RIAT.

Personally I'd like to see a C-135FR.

Still a good selection of types generally speaking - not knocking your enthusiasm at all there :thumb:

How about ZK848?? Definitely a historic - and very drool-worthy (invented word) - NATO aircraft. :Wow: :Wow:

Supposedly the paperwork will be sorted and it will finally come over this year.

Absolutely. I think a lot of us are thinking in the same way; a gathering of current NATO types will be good to see, but the cold war period represents the very essence of the organisation, and we really want to see a mix of types from that era. Such a pity that flying examples are so thin on the ground...!

Great that the paperwork is nearly complete for the F4F, just a pity there won't be a valid delivery address at Scampton?
