RIAT Friday - couple of clarifications, please

Post by Stan » Mon Jul 16, 2018 5:09 pm

Gents, a couple of points to clarify from the checklist and beyond, please - specifically the flying area:

Belgian F-16's: FA-129 listed on checklist. I could see one special display paint scheme and one ordinary fighter scheme. FA-101 was at the fair end of the airfield. Can someone clarify what was there.

Dayglo nosed prop job with a shark mouth, seen behind the Greek F-16s, 18:58. Cheap and nasty record shot of it here https://flic.kr/p/287bXJ3. What was it?

Thanks muchly

FA-129 was parked north side all weekend, FA-101 (display jet) was on static on Friday, as it wasn't displaying.

Your dayglo aircraft is a Grob G.120TP, registration has escaped me, apologies. :)

A Gulfstream was parked over with the flightline aircraft on the north side - assume that this was SE-RKL, can anyone confirm, please?

My first time at RIAT on the Saturday, enjoyed it immensely. Couldn't believe how lucky we were with the weather. I'm not familiar with the orientation of the airfield so am not sure which the 'North' side is. Is this over where the hangars are and all the display teams aircrafts were parked up. Were all flying aircraft parked down at that end ..?

Cheers

Steve

Yes that is the North Side. I think all flying participants were parked on the North Side this year plus the odd visiting aircraft bringing in VIP's.

Reds, RAF Typhoon, RAF Tutor and the Norwegian Vampires were southside.
