RIAT flypast
Re: RIAT flypast
Optimistic head - fairford is about 2 miles inside the far eastern boundary of the warning...Maybe
I couldn't decide whether to go Friday or Sunday. I chose Friday....Sundays forecast is fantastic. Arghh.

Yeh I’m going Sunday but was hoping to go Friday too so I could see the bigger flypast but not so sure now
Re: RIAT flypast
It looks like the rain is shifting towards the end of the afternoon, early evening. Yesterday they predicted rain for thursday and the fridaymorning as well.
Re: RIAT flypast
Thick, grey low cloud here all day in south wales (70 miles from f'ford straight line). Fairly dismal day in the beacons.

Yeh the weather seems to be getting worse over the time the flypast is scheduled to go over

Re: RIAT flypast
Would they move the flypast to another if the weather is going to be as rubbish as what it’s predicted or would they just scrap it?
Re: RIAT flypast
What is rubbish enough? Just a high cloudbase with some rain isn't enough to cancel the flypast. 60% change of rain, about 8 mm spread over an afternoon and evening isn't by far an cloudburst. 10 years ago they performed this in foul weather as well.

Localised severe slow moving thunderstorms is the met office official.

Yeah that’s what I’ve seen with the thunderstorms it’s not going to happen in those conditions
Re: RIAT flypast
£20 to change tickets to sunday is looking like a good idea. I may do that.
Re: RIAT flypast
Hi all I have seen the Notam for the Flypast but it only seems to give grid reference coordinates is there a map with the route marked on it
Thanks Ni
Thanks Ni
Re: RIAT flypast
The Red Arrows Flypast route notam for today shows them travelling due south, from near, Bradford on Avon, near Bouton on the Water, over the Fairford control tower, then out over Swindon.
I'll be having a late lunch and be in Blunsdon, with a hope that the other elements of the flypast will follow the same track.
