I think from last year at P&V they were turning people away at the gate as they'd 'sold out' yet if you could get online the tickets were there. P&V West still had loads of space inside.

I'm sure I saw the odd few stood watching the departures from somewhere near where you park your car? Is this allowed as it is slightly elevated and wouldn't get all the pushing and shoving or people getting in the way from this spot. Any info is much appreciated

Thanks

I have been staying in the car park at P&V West for the last 3 years during departure day, first of all it was pretty empty but last year it was heaving ,I would recommend buying tickets in advance saves all the hassle of having to get into the pig pen just to get a ticket.
As others have said the car park is higher than the pig pen and you have no where near as many people around you .
The barriers are higher for shots into the static area and you loose the down the runway shots of aircraft taking of nearly head on but it works for me. At least you don't get shoved in the back by someone trying to push in while your trying to get your photos. Hope you enjoy your day.

I thought the SU-27 was listed and even featured on the RIAT web site

There's a Polish Su-22 down for static, and a Romainian MiG-21, possible confusion with either of those?

last year it wasn't confirmed until the Thursday before the show I think.

There is a photo of it at the top, it rotates between showground shot, Su27, Reds an Thunderbird's and Thunderbird's on their own.

Just photos from last year.

But the Thunderbirds aren't coming this year so that means nothing

Looking at the NATS document, the RAF 100 flypast is due to happen each day between 13.40 & 14.15 BST

Just because there is a photo of something on their website doesn’t mean it’s coming!! It isn’t on the confirmed list (yet...)

Gary; though the RAF100 flypast was only the Friday mate? :S

According to the NATS website see below M 051/2018 second pdf, it's happening Friday - Sunday. It's been reported Friday will be the biggest flypast but NATS are expecting some form all three days

Does anybody know if the CV-22B Osprey is flying every day, as last year it only flew on the Friday and Saturday and of course I went on the Sunday and missed it.

Flanker Confirmed by RIAT :thumb:

It's official. The Ukrainian Air Force have confirmed their attendance at RIAT 2018 with an Su-27P flying display, accompanied by an Su-27UB and IL-76 tanker on static!
Lets hope for blue skies and the full demo.

RIAT normally update the participants list closer to the time, advising which days each act will be flying, they also did this for the static in previous years when not all of the showground was open on Friday.
