Aerial photos of RIAT

Post by WZ744 » Sat Jul 29, 2017 7:22 am

Hi all,
I am interested in seeing some photos of the showground taken from the air. Does anyone know if there are any published anywhere? Do they publish photos taken from the R44 for example? Not much appears in a google search.
Colin.

Very interesting question - I'm sure the heli's that used to be on the field used to do this kind of thing, but dont know if things are different now.

It's done from Alan Smith's R44, as WZ744 said.

The Photos are usually taken by the RIAT photo team, and are the photos you normally see on the adverts for the next show etc. In other words mostly PR shots only.

Thanks for the replies folks, I didn't think there were many available for public viewing.

There's a few on Google & Flickr, if that helps.

Google search box: aerial photos of RIAT

Flickr search box: Fairford RIAT aerial

Both searches bring back a few aerial photos, but none from 2017 as far as I can see.
