RIAT Viewing
Just a basic question folks - can you view RIAT from the Fire Gates (if a short stay) and the pavement either side of the 27 end?

The last time I tried doing the same thing a very uptight and frustrated policeman began to write a ticket. I moved on, as directed by him on his first drive by.
Best wishes

I guess they cant give you a ticket if your on foot or ask you to move along if its a public road or footpath.

Re: RIAT Viewing
The tragedy at Shoreham should be enough to discourage people viewing from outside the fence on the display line.
Re: RIAT Viewing
I would not recommend standing on the railway tracks to watch trains either.

Re: RIAT Viewing
I would suggest that you try totterdown, as you will get no hassle from the police.

Re: RIAT Viewing
Just wondered what folk do who are not going into the show for what ever reason, and are happy photographing display stuff, but also want to spot/photograph some or as much as views allow of the static.

Re: RIAT Viewing
I don't think you'll see much, if any static from outside mate. Not to photograph anyway. You may see some stuff parked on the northern apron at the 27 end, but it will be quite far.
As stated Totterdown is good. I think a tenner per car. Great views of flying displays but you can't see much of the airfield.

Re: RIAT Viewing
You could try departures day on the Monday, no flying display but you will see pretty much everything there and photograph it all as it goes. About 20 quid at either end.Cornish-guy wrote:Just wondered what folk do who are not going into the show for what ever reason, and are happy photographing display stuff, but also want to spot/photograph some or as much as views allow of the static.

Re: RIAT Viewing
I guess the only other options are to - see what you can see and photograph from the roadside 27 end, and also the North side fire gate.

Re: RIAT Viewing
What happened last year at the north side fire gate - could you stand or park there briefly for a few minutes to get a couple of shots of the static, but move away after?
