Ear Defenders

Postby sneezy24 » Tue Jun 20, 2017 9:35 am

I've always used ear defenders at RIAT (don't want to increase the damage done in early life at many rock concerts!!).

I've got a pair of cheap B&Q ones at present, but they are bulky.

Any recommendations for a good, compact pair? (not too pricey, and ideally room for in-ear headphones so I can listen to ATC).

I think they are more important for P&V days when the planes are closer (luverly!!!)

I use a pair of Thunder29's by Howard Leight. They are a bit bulky, but there is space for both in ear and over ear and the sound isolation is great. They are designed for helicopter use so should be good. Try the online pilot supply stores, they should have them.

Got a pair from Amazon: Mpow £9.99. They work well, plenty of room for in-ear phones.
