RIAT Camping

Post by Adam » Mon Jul 12, 2010 9:15 am

Hi Guys,

Apologies if this is posted on the wrong forum, I couldn't see anything more appropriate!

I'm down at Fairford from Wednesday until Monday this week, I'm struggling to find a camp site/field/garden to camp in from Wednesday night onwards due to them either not being open until Thursday, or have no room  .

Does anyone know any not so well known sites they are staying in, I don't mind chancing it and finding a local, I would just prefer to know where I'm staying?

Thanks in anticipation.

All I can tell you is that the main ones (Kempsford , Totterdown etc) sell out yonks in advance, if the worst comes to the worst I would suggest you head for one of these and give them big Moo Cow eyes, as long as it's just one tent I'm sure one of them will squeeze you in.!!
But don't tell anybody I told you !!

Cheers, I will see what I can do then...

Failing that, I'll find a field, or someones's garden or something.

Thanks :)

It's about 9 miles away,but give them a ring :-

Hoburne Cotswolds Caravan & Camping Site
Broadway Lane, South Cerney, Cirencester, Gloucestershire GL7 5UQ
Tel: 01285 860216

As Beefsteak says, the nearby ones will all be full and you could waste hours looking when you get there.
The above site is huge and has got great facilities.

Thanks Flaps! I have given them a call and they have availability, also they don't mind if I turn up Wednesday evening after P&V (If I can't find anywhere closer)

Rhymes farm... If that's correct, i will probably try there first. I think that's GL7 4BU isn't it?

Thanks for the assistance guys, left it a bit late, due to work commitments, I'm even picking up my Mach 3 pack from Douglas Bader house Wednesday morning as I bought it too late to send through the post!

I donnt know if the below link will work, but http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is a good resource.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/calcd ... =-1.777039" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If the above works, it should show campsites within 5 miles of Fairford, if these are all full you can extend the seach out to 20 miles

FYI, one of the sites show is The Trout Inn; good beer and food, it is also under the approach to the Fairford runway 27

Good luck in your search
