Take a look on the RIAT website for Kempsford or Townends Farm camping.

It would appear that is the intention as they were recently looking to recruit a campsite manager and from that, I assume that Bluebell haven't got the contract this year.

Hi all. I've booked my FRIAT ticket this year and I'm going to book up a campsite to stay over. I was planning on Kempsford but that boat appears to have sailed already so I guess that I need to get my skates on. I know that some have electrical hook ups and others don't and I suspect that those that do have are limited in number. What are the available options for charging camera batteries, mobile phones etc. if I don't manage to get a hook up?

I suspect you will be limited to an invertor to run off the car.

Hi guys what does anyone think of flyby campsite ? Where I usually go kempsford is apparently sold out so I have to find somewhere else . Also now Friday being a display day for 4 hours is it still an arrival day ? Due to me being a student I don't think I can afford all 3 days but want to be there for all arrivals and departures
Thanks in advance

Hi Joe

I used Flyby last year and thought it did the job brilliantly. The showers were clean and very hot, there was a hot food van and the distance from the site to yellow or even red entrance are really minimal. You can view the arrivals from site too but if it's pictures you want, you'll be shooting into the sun. Last Friday there were still a couple of arrivals (Tiger f16 being one) but most the juicy stiff was already in place.

Hopefully that helps somewhat
Cheers
Chris.

After Shoreham, Rhymes was shut down, doubt it'll ever re-open. Hope you enjoy the show Joe, see you in July! :thumb:

That was the only aspect that took a bit of planning. I had three batteries and an in car battery charger. It wasn't great and a bit touch and go at times but I managed Wed-Fri so 3 days sold shooting. It's possible :)

You'l probably get in here, I'm booked in OK, 4th time I've used the site for RIAT, nice and quiet, it is not to far to pub and meals, people do walk there, worth a ring;

Cheers Joe! Believe there is a pub in Marston Meysey, may also be one in Kempsford.

1.5miles or 30 mins walking to the blue gate, maybe an hour to walk to Fairford town centre. Nearest pub is the Red Lion in Castle Eaton, about 1km away

Thankyou . I've just had a look at townsend . Does that have an electrical hook ? As ive said on a previous post I will be at riat arrivals wed and Thursday but Friday due to money I won't be going to the Friday but want a good view aswell :/ (being greedy). It's just charging my camera and phone that's gonna be a nightmare.
Thanks for all your help
