While an RAF Tornado may not be likely, the Italians have a special scheme Tornado on the go this year which would be fantastic to see.

I do hope we see a Tornado fly at RIAT this year, I've not seen one in many years and come 2019 they will be on the way out.

I do hold high hope of a few next year though for the RAF 100th

Agree re: sentiments about a flying Tornado. We obviously had the TTTE flypasts in 2015 but that was sedate. Wasn't there an Italian example displaying in 2014? How feasible would an Italian Tornado display be this year? Or a German one?

Saw this elsewhere.

On the Cosford press release It says 3 venues for Lancaster with 4 Spitfires, Cosford, Scrampton confirmed & a 3rd unknown... I would think most likely RIAT

Squadron Leader Andrew Millikin, Officer Commanding BBMF, said “I am delighted to be displaying at RAF Cosford on our 60th Anniversary. It will be the first of only 3 venues where we will display the Lancaster with 4 fighters. This will feature a 4 ship tailchase and synchro display. It will be a unique spectacle and one well worth catching.

Where does it say 4 Spitfires? The link and your quote both state 4 fighters so could well be 2 Spitfires and 2 Hurricanes. Does it specifically state 4 Spits somewhere else?
Cheers

Cosford website confirms it to be a four ship of Spitfires.

As have Scrampton.
As it celebrates its 60th anniversary, the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, will display five of its most famous and successful WW2 aircraft. Crucial to the Dambusters raid, spectators will be able to enjoy the evocative sight and sound of the Lancaster bomber, as well as that of four BBMF Spitfires.

Thanks chaps. I suspect though that it is a misinterpretation of the quote. If they are celebrating the 60th of the Flight, why would one of their types be completely omitted from the celebrations?

Available pilots maybe?

As much as I still want to see the Lancaster with Spitfire & Hurricane (Not seen them together since 2000) Lancaster with 4 Spitfires would be amazing. I saw the Lancaster with 2 Spitfires at our local seaside show in 2016 and it was great, so seeing 4 will be better :D

Does seem to be a slower start to the list this year, would expect it to pick up within the next couple of weeks though, roll on July! :thumb:

Definitely a slower start MRTT.

Great to have the RAF support too, would of been nice to get the Dakota seeing as it's the BBMF 60th this year. However there is time.

Not really much point mate to be honest. No one is going to find it on page 11 once the updates start flowing in and everyone has access to the RIAT website.....

Yup, translates into this: The world's best this year of @airtattoo air show were invited to SOLOTÜRK for our country, we were invited as well. We're all proud of that.

If so, a good addition! :thumb:

Fantastic update today!

Belgian Air Force
Lockheed C-130H Hercules (S)
Lockheed Martin F-16AM Fighting Falcon (F)
Lockheed Martin F-16AM Fighting Falcon (S)
Westland Sea King Mk48 (F)
The Belgian Air Component's spectacular F-16AM Fighting Falcon display will feature again at RIAT 2017, piloted by Cdt Tom 'Gizmo' De Moortel in his third and last season as the demo pilot. Joining it in the flying programme will be another Belgian contribution, a search and rescue demonstration by a soon-to-be-retired Sea King Mk48. A single F-16 and C-130H Hercules transport are set to join the static park.

Is there any chance the static f16 being the tiger one that visited Marham this January?

Don't suppose you've got a picture handy? I'm led to believe the only Tiger F-16 was repainted in October.
