Got my tickets, cheque on its way to Kempsford, beer & food money safely stashed. Now just need lots of patience, plenty of good updates and a nice week in July

Hear, hear for a nice week in July!! Tickets got (at earlybird prices, of course) and date marked and highlighted on the calendar. All I've got to do now is wait.
This will be the first one I've been to since the very first IAT at Fairford (in 1985) - did all the Greenham shows, though. Really looking forward to it - and the wife is too .
I wonder how quickly the tickets will sell out (apart from coach firms, that is)?? April??

Last time they came over for Waddo/ RIAT were they not on an exercise somewhere, or did I imagine that?
Maybe the same again?

Booked our tickets. Going Friday this year as could only do the Fri or Sat & as the disabled enclosure is already fully booked for the Sat!! Bit of a faff to get a mobility scooter for Wife though, as we have to use Green CP & the mobility scooters are only available at the Red CP on the Fri. so been told will have to get the Bus down to Red .

Hoping to see confirmations start in the next week or so. Going to be my first trip to RIAT. The USAF 70th was too hard to pass up. Going with Public grandstand on Saturday, and just going to walk the static on Sunday.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
is there an actual start date when updates will start to come on Thursdays or have we already started.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
Nothing aside from the Thunderbirds on the website, would expect it to be this week though.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
The US Viper Team, F22 Demo and Heritage Flights have been busy training end of last week so fingers crossed the schedule is released this week.

Would be interesting if RIAT went old school and didn't release participantion like the days before the Internet. Part of the charm of the old Air Fete days was knowing not really knowing what was there. Just turning up knowing it was going to be a great day

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
Now that would be old school...also wouldn't it be nice just to turn up at the gate and buy a ticket if you knew the weather was playing ball , or being able to park on-site next to crowd line so you didn't have to trundle back and forth to a car park .
They ain't like they used to be!
Everything that was good in the old Air Fete days has been and gone unfortunately
