But I understand that there is an exercise before riat and I recall there was an article in the press the assets attending might stay for the show so it there is a possibility that they might already be there.

The Americans confirm more aircraft for RIAT 2017! We can confirm two CV-22B Ospreys from RAF Midenhall, one static and one flying; two static F-16Cs from 480 Fighter Squadron; a static C-17A from 701 Airlift Squadron; an MC-130J again from Mildenhall and finally the US Navy confirms a P-8A Poseidon for the static park.

Immense, particularly good to see USAF F-16s returning!
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
Great update still won't be enough for some though!
Cheers

i'm afraid even if the entire usaf turned up it still won't be enough for some.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
It'd be enough for the tarmac, though.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
Nice little update. I suspect some will be disappointed with the majority of those being static and not a little more of them put into the flying programme.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
Can it really get any better than this?
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
It appears that Raf Scampton has confirmed a CF-188 for the static park what are your opinions on whether we could get one at riat?
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
No.
The aircraft appearing at Scampton is, at the time of the show, in France.

It just keeps getting better and better as the weeks roll by!
I was in a huge management meeting today when the update email came through, not sure if the boss agreed with the fist pump or not?
Some awesome static additions especially the C-17, this bulks up the heavies even more!

What a line up so far. Memory cards going to get a hammering even before anything takes to the air
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
Yes, but they could have given us something more interesting than an East Coast (Charleston) one.Voodoo1 wrote:.......

They have not come up with an ANG representative yet.....might be interesting.

And no mention of C5, C/KC135, KC10, C130 you would think USAF anniversary they would want quite a few bits on display.
