Hi, does anyone know if this is still in operation, where you park in the bomb dump and wait for the gates to open at 6am and then drive on to the airfield.
Has been the same for years, but just checking.

The ACO Camp is using the Old Bomb Dump as a campsite, so things may have changed this year.

Last year I arrived at around half six and was directed straight onto the airfield parking for the Red route, what was the early bird area didn't seem to be in use.

I've always parked opposite the airfield on the left at around 4-5am most years and there's been cars there already.

In response to my own request, there is no early bird parking at the old bomb dump by the red route entrance, got there at 5am to find cars parking in a line on the road, police were good and let people queue, probably because there was nowhere else for them to go.

Used the blue car again this year, no early bird parking, as RIAT didn't want to cover the cost, that came from the gent opening the gate this morning, is company was willing to cover it, but RIAT said no
