Fridays at RIAT
hi folks, its been about 20 years since i last went to RIAT and this year i will be departing on my hols on the Saturday so still wont make the main days.
i was just browsing around the RIAT website and noticed there is now a Friday event as well, what can i expect on this day, do you get to see the majority of the static? i assume you just dont get to see the stuff that arrives on the friday up close as it needs to be parked up for the next days static, is that how it works?
any help appreciated.
cheers

Not all the static is open and theres a cut down flying programme, but still worth going as it's less busy than the main days.

For the Friday current flying display aircraft, see "RIAT 2016 Air Show information, where it list which aircraft will fly on Friday...Green133 wrote:Not all the static is open and theres a cut down flying programme, but still worth going as it's less busy than the main days.

As i said, i can't find any info about the start time for Friday. Not saying it's not there - but have looked through every page (or feels like it) and have found everything except that.bizfreeq wrote:Look at the post above yours Phantom, it tells you where to look for the info you require.
So if anyone knows, it'd be much appreciated.

On Friday the showground opens at 7.30am-6.30pm with the carpark opening at 6am
Flying display starts at 11am and finishes at 3pm.
If you download the airshow app all the info including Fridays showground map is there.

Hope this helps

great info thanks folks, definitely going to go, especially as it looks like the weather is going to be ok
Re: Fridays at RIAT
Enjoyed the Friday, couldn't get there over the weekend but it was straight into Red zone no queues then 10 min wait at the showground entrance, ok missed a few aircraft up the green zone but i can live with that.
Oh and Fridays checklist was only £2.00 !
