RIAT 2015 Frequencies-Participants-Arrivals-Deps etc

Post by robin » Wed Jul 01, 2015 3:14 pm

Work in progress - as more information comes in (and spare time) further information will be included

New this year, a new section of "STATIC PARK (Non Air arrivals; i.e. aircraft/helicopters etc that arrive by road)" has been added

Also new and is included is a list of participants for each day, flying display participants.

I am trying to add yet another very useful new section, if I am allowed to print it. I have used it for many years now, but not able to print it, this being the ATC daily brief on the next day traffic with estimated times arrivals & departure times for each aircraft and helicopter attending the show. Good for knowing what is coming in and when, very useful for photography, so that they can position themselves correctly for key aircraft they want to photograph.

Unfortunately the RIAT Team have refused permission to allow me to print pending arrivals and departures times (from their own listings)..... sorry I did try.......... However if you send in movements (as already some people have done)..... then I will print them.....in the movement section.....

Royal International Air Tattoo - RAF Fairford 2015

AIR TATTOO 2015 THEME

In partnership with the Royal Air Force, the RIAT are inviting international air arms to join us at RAF Fairford in 2015 and focus on aircraft from around the globe that help Secure the Skies, whether in support of combat missions, intelligence gathering, or providing airlift capability delivering vital humanitarian aid. From historic events such as the Battle of Britain, through to current day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the importance of controlling airspace continues to be powerfully demonstrated.

This year sees the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the spotlight will fall on this historic aerial conflict, the bravery of the pilots from 14 nations who flew with RAF Fighter Command and the contribution new technology such as radar then played in Securing the Skies.

NOT FOR OPERATIONAL USE

LAST UPDATED - - Monday 20th July 2015 17.00 hours

Western Radar closure notes, and some additions (i.e. Air to Air and Swanwick notes, SSR codes) to frequency listing: plus other data including expected visiting aircraft

Now confirmed that the Royal International Air Tattoo 2015 will witness a British airshow 'first' when the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) displays two examples of its Kawasaki P-1 four-jet maritime patrol aircraft - one in the static park and the other in the flying programme. The two aircraft are thought to be from VX 51 Sqn JMSDF, and are already believed to be on-route to the Middle East, before appearing at RIAT 2015 Fairford

Saturday 18th July 2015 and Sunday 19th July 2015 RIAT 2015 Fairford tickets are now completely SOLD OUT!!! Only Friday tickets remaining

The RIAT have confirmed that the Vulcan XH558 WILL FLY in formation with the "Red Arrows" on both Saturday and Sunday

Due to the interest (especially of the photographers of the Red Arrows and the formation with Vulcan B-2 XH558, and the confusing picture of times, a FULL LIST "TIMELINE" (given arrive and departure times relevant) has been published at the end of the Arrivals & Departure Section

Many minor additions and changes undertaken daily to try and keep this document up-to-date. Weather updated for Wednesday to Friday, with wind direction predication good for working out which way they should land. Saturday to Monday Weather will be further updated nearer the time, also with Wind direction.

First aircraft for the RIAT 2015 Fairford, have already started to arrive. Known aircraft so far are listed in the "Arrival" and "Departure" list (which is at the end of the first file).

Regrettable a further three aircraft have cancelled, and have been added to the cancellation list.

Some of expected Wednesday arrivals have been listed in Wednesday arrival/departure list.

These movement pages will be updated as report come in (please keep those reports coming, they are most welcome)....

ATC Notes & Restrictions for RIAT Fairford 2015

Wednesday 15th - 19 July 2015 - RIAT ATC Airspace Restricted from Surface to FL85
Monday 20th July 2015 - RIAT ATC Airspace Restricted from Surface to 5000 feet

No aircraft is permitted to enter, or fly within the Restricted Area (Temporary) without prior permission of the Air Traffic Control Unit at RAF Brize Norton.
All non Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) Aircraft are restricted to a straight in approach to a full stop. No practice approaches; and no touch and go.

ASTON DOWN GLIDING SITE - Aston Down gliding site has been authorized to operate within the Restricted Area (Temporary) up to 3600 ft amsl in the area
bounded by the northwestern edge of Kemble ATZ routing north and west to the edge of the Restricted Area (Temporary)

ATC RESTRICTIONS - No aircraft is permitted to enter, or fly within the Restricted Area (Temporary) without prior permission of the Air Traffic Control
Unit at RAF Brize Norton.

Aircraft may, under certain circumstances, be given a clearance to transit through the Restricted Area (Temporary) under a positive clearance from the Air Traffic Control Unit at RAF Brize Norton. However, during displays by jet formation display teams no requests for clearances will be considered, or issued, for routings within 6 nm of RAF Fairford.

ACCESS TO KEMBLE AND OTHER AERODROMES - No aircraft is permitted to enter, or fly within the Restricted Area (Temporary) without prior permission of the Air Traffic Control Unit at RAF Brize Norton.

KEMBLE AERODROME - To enable flexible use of airspace in a safe and effective manner to enable flying operations to take place at Kemble Aerodrome,
formal procedures have been put in place for the period 15-19 July 2015. During this time entry and exit lanes to Kemble Aerodrome have been established for the purpose of inter-unit coordination. All aircraft arriving to, and departing from, Kemble Aerodrome will require permission to transit the Restricted Area (Temporary). Approval for transits will be granted by Brize Norton Zone on frequency 119.0 MHz.

The lanes are colored marked on the associated chart defined as follows:
(a) Red Route (Southeast): M4 Junction 16 – Kemble.
(b) Yellow Route (Southwest): M4 Junction 17 – Kemble.
(c) Blue Route (Northwest): Dursley - Kemble (Avoid Aston Down Gliding Site).
(d) Green Route (Northeast): Northleach Roundabout VRP (Northeast of Cirencester) – Kemble.

These routes are to be flown not above 1500 ft Fairford Clutch QNH or not above 1000 ft Kemble QFE, unless otherwise instructed by the control agency. All aircraft with transponders should squawk Mode 3A 3737 with Mode C if available until cleared enroute or instructed to squawk a discrete code by another agency.
Additionally, subject to the approval of the Air Traffic Control Unit at RAF Brize Norton, aircraft may depart/arrive on desired track within the quadrant bounded by the southwest (Yellow) and northwest (Blue) entry and exit lanes.

AIR RIAT Drone (UAV) Warning to Operators

The Royal International Air Tattoo is warning that anyone flying drones or small unmanned aircraft systems may face prosecution if they operate them at or around RAF Fairford. The call has been prompted by safety concerns following a spate of recent incidents at airports and other airfields around the UK.

Article 161 of the Air Navigation Order grants the Air Tattoo Restricted Airspace between Wednesday, July 15 and Monday July 20 to allow safe conduct of the event and contravention of that would constitute a criminal act.

Air Tattoo Chief Executive Andy Armstrong said he was making the appeal to highlight to the owners of drones or small unmanned aircraft systems the potential serious consequences of operating them within restricted airspace. He said: "The use of these small flying machines to capture aerial video footage is becoming increasingly popular. I wish to remind people that rules and regulations exist surrounding their operation and that, in the case of the Air Tattoo, none are permitted to be airborne at or around the airshow.

"My priority is to ensure we stage a safe event, for participants and public alike, and I advise anyone who sees 'drone' activity within the Air Tattoo airspace to report it to the Police."

Many thanks markranger, was given two different sets of times, have re-checked the current planned times, and amended the above.

Still trying to check a few items, and will update, if and when anyone advises me of any changes or errors.

Still working on the Air to Air - Air to Ground Frequencies, especially for the various aerobatic or display teams (that are expected or may attend), any help on this would be appreciated.

Once again thanks for the update, any further updates most welcome.

Pages updated again today (as time permits);

Further updates planned tomorrow

Of Note: Friday display participants included (plus many, many other additions and minor updates also added today).

Please note, as in previous years, due to security and the current "security threat level" NO ground security (Police airfield security etc) or emergency (Fire, Ambulance, Rescue etc), operationally frequencies will be published for Fairford RIAT 2015 in this listing. Also no pm will be replied to on this issue, Sorry them are the rules. :ninja:

Today's updates, including many small editions and a few amendments.

Also listed new today, is the RIAT 2015 Fairford Airshow Participants, is Friday Flying Display Participants: Saturday Flying Display Participants & Sunday Flying Display Participants.

Still trying for permission to include the ATC daily list of PLANNED list of arrivals and departures list, which gives ETA (estimate times of arrival) and ETD (estimated times of departure) of each of the aircraft & Helicopters arriving and departing by air for Fairford RIAT 2015.

Question, re Display teams.

I notice that the "Breitling Team" appear to have a enclosure stand at Fairford RIAT 2015, but as yet, I do not know for certain if they will bring in their display team aircraft either for flying or static, which to me seems odd.

Has anyone more information on this issue, and other possible display teams, who may attend RIAT 2015 Fairford ????

Many thanks BrizeWatcher, for the heads up, that would explain why they do not appear on the static or flying display.

Breitling (the people who make watches) sponsor RIAT, hence their tent. They also happen to sponsor a display team with L-39s, but they're not necessarily at never Breitling sponsored event.

Also, looks like the Hawk T.2 role demo will be arriving on the Wednesday.

I also understand that the Hawk T.2 role demo will be arriving on the Wednesday, along with other display teams.

I understand that check out for the participation RIAT approval of display teams at Fairford 2015 will take place on the Thursday.

The PA-23 Aztec and Cessna 550 Citation of Marshall Aerospace are also due to be attending as day visitors, alongside a Cessna 680 of Cartier Europe (mentioned a few months back but never added to the Participation list.)

The Royal International Air Tattoo 2015 will witness a British airshow 'first' when the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) displays two examples of its Kawasaki P-1 four-jet maritime patrol aircraft - one in the static park and the other in the flying programme.

Some of the coach operators that are running trips to the Air Tattoo have advised the RIAT committee that they still have a few tickets available for both Saturday & Sunday, if you book with them.
