Re: Vulcan at Gaydon
Don't know about Sean Muppett being 'emotional', you should've heard me go-off on one if I had been subjected to that 'p**s-up in a Brewery' !
That is by far & away the worst private display (if not ever?) provided for a limited audience absolutely nowhere close-by. The organisers (drunkards?) decide to set the display-line 2 miles from the punters, facing directly into the sun, behind buildings & trees, such that a third of the sequence was obscured & their lasting memory as the Vulcan fades into the distance....is a freaking TREE hiding it all!!!!

Just watched that, and I would have been incandescent if I had paid money for that venue

I think you all need to calm down, private display it was indeed & for free! Although I was half way down the old runway at ex RAF Gaydon lol, good planning prevents bad performance!
Re: Vulcan at Gaydon
It only cost £3, but yes, while the Vulcan actually did what it was meant to, the location left a lot to be desired. Into the sun etc. Not a great end to it all. Thankfully a good zoom lens help but that's not the point.

Re: Vulcan at Gaydon
I feel for the people inside Gaydon for that display, it looks a long way off. I was on the other side of Gaydon on a footpath and it was right overhead. Hopefully the trees on site didn't obscure it for everyone.
Re: Vulcan at Gaydon
Why they have not arranged a display like at Bruntingthorpes, a location with a bit of planning could get a very big crowd in.
Re: Vulcan at Gaydon
Because it's Bruntingthorpe. Think they would rather scrap it than do anything at Brunty.

Sounds like it, guess they have not paid for the Vulcan fully yet.Sylar wrote:Because it's Bruntingthorpe. Think they would rather scrap it than do anything at Brunty.

Re: Vulcan at Gaydon
Like a meal, there is no such thing as a free display. The people at VTTS have constantly reminded us how much fuel per hour for this magnificent beast is. If you were one of the many punters who had put their hand in their pocket to keep these people in a job over the years, you might be disappointed about how that donation has been used at Gaydon and before.GVLCN wrote:I think you all need to calm down, private display it was indeed & for free! As that man said 'bring on the Shackleton'.
