right directly underneath a wing over, have some fab shots to prove it. Never been that close to a top side shot, glad the CAA brought in those rules where pilots must display their aircraft as far from the paying customers as possible   All today cost me was half a tank of fuel for a great experience with the vulcan.

And no it did not roll, strictly a wingover!

It was away from a display area apparently, person who first reported it was in Grantham.

This is a Vulcan barrel roll https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afj19PedlxE

From what I've seen posted today, that looked like a wing over which can look like a roll depending where you were standing.

I was at Hunningham on the Hill and had 558 fly directly down The Fosse 100metres from my location but with a little waggle that I could hope was to the many people that had made the effort to go and see her. Lots of people were parked up along the roads with binoculars, surely only there to see the Vulcan for the last time? A guy in an M3 BMW joined me to see it, taking time out from work and seeing his partner. He asked me if I was going to try to see the display and, as that time, I wasn't.

I then decided to shoot down to Ufton to watch the display, the Autumnal Sun made it difficult to orientate the position of the aircraft but the display looked fairly sedate compared to Saturday RIAT or the Saturday at Southport (both of which I personally witnessed).

I may have missed the roll but have watched youtube footage and think that I may have had a better vantage point than the paying guest.

I think a trip to Cosford next week to say my personal goodbye.

Seeing the Vulcan back in the air was superb. Next stop the Shackleton!

Is a vulcan roll in any way similar to a bacon roll?
