Prototype Tiger in UK

Post by eagle driver » Sat Feb 20, 2016 6:53 pm

Found this on MSF may be of interest to some
Long Stratton is just to the south of norwich
All,

Thanks to Richard Flagg for informing me this morning the first prototype Tiger 'F-ZWWW' which was used in the bond film 'Goldeneye' is located at Long Stratton with 'Long Stratton Motors' in use for another film. I am led to believe it wont be hanging around for long! You view it as follows;

Park your car at the following place "52°29'13.55"N, 1°13'18.85"E" and then walk along the public footpath which is directly in-front of you parallel to the industrial site to your left. Follow it around the bend and the Tiger will eventually come into sight @ "52.486222, 1.21939". If you're not fussed about photographing it and would like to just see it, then a view can be had at "52°29'10.29"N, 1°13'10.97"E - this is for those individuals who are satisfied with a rotor blade or two.

Kind Regards

Is this not just a mock up produced for filming?

I don't know if anyone is actually sure, but I was told that this airframe was used in 'Goldeneye'. The confusion is that F-ZWWW is a mock-up and used to fly, but lost all of its instruments etc and was converted. So the question is, is there 1 or 2 mock-ups?

Looks considerably intact considering they (probably) destroyed it in Goldeneye.
