RAF Valley Families Day- Thursday 2nd June 2016

Post by MRTT » Thu Jun 02, 2016 8:22 am

Couldn't see a thread, so thought I'd start one!

I'm not aware of the full list of participating aircraft but I've managed to gather this:

RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team
BAC Jet Provost T5 XW324
USAF B-52H Stratofortress Flypast (DUE: 15.03)
The Team Raven- 4x Vans RV8 & 1x Vans RV4
The Red Arrows- 9x BAE Systems Hawk T1A (DUE: 15.40)

I'd expect there to be something done by the home squadron!

Update from RAF Valley via their Facebook page.
RAF Valley is holding its Families day on Thursday 2 June between 1.00pm and 5.00pm. This private event is an opportunity for RAF Valley to thank its personnel and their families for their hard work and dedication to duty over the last year. The event will include a flying display; we very much hope our local community will forgive the temporary increase in noise during the afternoon.
We have conducted a careful risk assessment of the event in order to assure the safety of our personnel, families and local community. The attached map shows the display lines that display aircraft are required to use; we strongly advise members of the public to stay clear of this area. Our colleagues at North Wales Police will be patrolling with the RAF Police and Army, and will ask anyone in the display area to move on, purely for their own safety.
We are grateful to you for supporting us in this opportunity to provide our personnel and families with a hard-earned thank-you. Should you have any queries please contact the RAF Valley media office on 01407 762241 ext 7834.

The Reds arrived around 1330 as planned, not sure where the 1540 time came from as the Display was at 1600 :ninja:
