N2770B hex A2C2D7 (at 18Kft) appears to have "caught up" with lead N2843B hex A2DF9A (16kft)
now passing sth of IoM.

Re: first Texan IIs arrived yet? Fri 16/2/18
Presume they are just arriving now (1610z). Tracks merged as they descended sth of IoM and coasted in abeam the Skerries around 1604z.
Will make a change from Hawk T2s...
Are their MRCOA ("RAF") serials definately going to be ZM325 & ZM326 respectively as reported elsewhere on this forum? The first appeared at RIAT 17 N2824B/(ZM323), and then ret to US. Presume the ac that wil become ZM324 had issues/is behind in assembly then?
Cheers

Yes, ZM325 and 326. Aircraft don’t always get delivered in serial order. The first two might be being used in the States for training or trials.

Although prominently displaying their US ferry registrations, they are already marked with their Britmil "last three" 325 and 326 on nose and tail. We will need to wait until their transponders have been reprogrammed to learn their 43C Hex Codes.
Re: first Texan T6s arrived yet? Fri 16/2/18
Does anyone know what squadron numberplate the Texans will adopt?
Re: first Texan T6s arrived yet? Fri 16/2/18
Linton and Valley (and Brawdy and Chivenor) have a number of numbers to choose from....

Thanks, should have realised the last 3 serial of serial already visible. That clears that up then...nickowen wrote:Although prominently displaying their US ferry registrations, they are already marked with their Britmil "last three" 325 and 326 on nose and tail. As I understand these are military registered civil owned aircraft (MRCOA) where the contract with Affinity requires them to provide "x" number of serviceable aircraft out on the line daily for RAF (or overseas) students to use. Do the new grobs at Cranwell & Barkston Heath have a RAF sqn numberplate attached to them?

Re: first Texan T6s arrived yet? Fri 16/2/18
The Texans have been registered on the UK civil register as G-CKGP (ex N2843B) and G-CKGW (ex N2770B) since 27th February. Information from the G info website.

I expect these civil registrations will be for mortgage purposes, and unlikely to be worn.
