Good few hours for visitors at Valley late afternoon yesterday
08-0051 Osprey CV22B of the 7th SOS did a couple of circuits around 4.15pm. This was followed by 4 Chinooks and 2 Strikemasters all of which are staying all week
Chinooks were ZH904, ZK558, ZK559 and ZK563
Strikemasters were G-RSAF and G-SOAF
Saw and heard the Chinooks heading into Snowdonia through the evening from my caravan in Rhosnigr

Visitors PM 6th August
Re: Visitors PM 6th August
The 27 Sqn HC.5 was delivering personnel and equipment in support of the 7 Sqn deployment
Re: Visitors PM 6th August
Strikeys still present Mon 13/8 parked on VAS. No flying of based units all day. cheers
Re: Visitors PM 6th August
The Strikemasters recovered to Hawarden when the weather eventually cleared yesterday afternoon. However, due to the Anglesey Show taking place at Bodedern, there will now be very few jet movements at Valley before Thursday.
Re: Visitors PM 6th August
Now I know why there was no local Hawk flying mon & tues (and presumably today as Anglesey show still on). Thought that the anglesey show was very close to Mona airfield so perhaps this could not be used as the normal RLG due to noise abatement etc. Diolch/Thanks

Re: Visitors PM 6th August
Show is indeed close, the show ground is literally just across the road to RAF Mona and the main car parks are located underneath the flight path to Mona. It seems that again there won't be any flying tomorrow (Thursday) due to the weather, so maybe it could be a fresh start next Monday?
If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Re: Visitors PM 6th August
The lack of T2 activity was nothing to do with the Anglesey Show but entirely due to "issues" with a new computer system which records maintenance done on the aircraft. Things have started to get back to normal this past week although the number of sorties flown is down to reduce presure on the servicing personnel. Not BAe System's finest hour.
Re: Visitors PM 6th August
Thanks for that...just a total coincidence that the Anglesey Show was on at that time.
Nothing surprises me having been involved with hawk manufacturing and various trials over a number of years whilst attempting to use the supporting firmware....
Cheers
