Hi All,
My first visit to this site and I hope someone can assist with my request. On the above date I was helping to prepare for the 50 Sqn disbandment ceremony & I am looking for a full list of the RAF Phantoms from 29 Sqn & 229 OCU that were present on that date/weekend. The Phantoms were on bolthole from Coningsby. Any help you can offer would be very much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Neil

RAF WADDINGTON 24.3.84
Re: RAF WADDINGTON 24.3.84
Found this in BAR , not sure if any help to you
As mentioned earlier, Coningsby
is currently closed for runway resurfacing and the Phantom fleet has moved in here.
Recent changes have included XV487/Q with 29 Sqdn (recoded from 'C' by 5.3) which is
now in the unit's revised markings along with XV404/E (f/n 23.2). Adding to F65, it
should be noted that XV485/W has yet to receive the RWR modification, so cannot yet
carry the red crosses on the fin fairing. Active aircraft noted during the exercise
period (6/7.3) were as follows:
29 Sqdn XV409/A, XV404/E, XV412/H, XV433/I, XV40I/L, 1(1909/N, XV4081P, XV487/Q,
XV432/T, XV485/W, XV407/X, XV438/Y.
228 OCU XV396/D, XV499/F, XT910/J, XV473/L, XT9141N, XT900/0, X1893/Q, XT903/R,
XV486/X, XT891/Z.
I would assume since Coningsby was closed they were here the entire time .
