Lakenheath based F100's 1972
One for the oldies like me,just close to finishing back logging all my sightings on my database but have a couple of queries regarding some of the last F100's to leave the base in 1972.
My first visit was on the 15th of February when I noted 18 along with 2 new F4D's.
Can someone point me in the direction of the F100's allocated to the 48th around this time please?
Thanks,
Graham

Re: Lakenheath based F100's 1972
In early Feb'72 they still had 24 on strength. On the 5th Feb I noted D's, 55-3616, 3666, 3812, 56-2980, 2993, 3008, 3018, 3176, 3211, 3262, 3315 and F's, 3850, 3876, 3884 and 3903. A couple more D's escaped identification. The others on 48th strength were 55-3663, 3665, 3811, 56-2979, 3203, 3208, 3309, 3310 and 3327.

55-3678 departed Lakenheath for the USA in Jan'72 but the 2 F-100F's never served with the 48th or 20th TFW's.

Re: Lakenheath based F100's 1972
Thanks again Graham,
55-3678 was with the unit then, interesting although later seen at Maxwell in 1995.
The other 2 will have to remain as mispoles although I did see 56-3818 later at AMARC.
Cheers,
Graham
