Radlett Mid 70s

Post by Big Spotter » Tue Oct 09, 2018 8:02 pm

Between 1974 and 1978 I used to regularly travel on a train which went along the edge of Radlett airfield, there was always an all white frame stuck in the middle of nowhere (? Victor) anyone any idea what this may have been.

I used to go fishing just down the road from the airfield and recall XA919 being dumped here for many years. But we are talking late 60's not 70's!
WAG Demobbed shows it as being scrapped July 1970.

the mid 70's would be a bit late for a white Victor and there is no entry for Radlett in W&R 1974 & 1978

maybe a Jetstream fuselage ??

1970 was when the airfield closed owing to the winding up of Handley Page following bankruptcy.

Thanks for the responses, would appear somewhere in the mists of time, confusion has crept in. Definitely was not before 1974, so not sure what else it could have been - always had it in my head that it was Radlett!
