Going back a bit here

On Friday October 10 1975 while at home in Surrey I saw a Lockheed constellation going MID - BPK ( Midhurst - Brookmans park) presumably to Mildenhall?

The callsign I wrote down was Silt 06 or Silk 06 - I am assuming it was military.

According to my sketchy notes there was some blue on the tail. I wasn't really doing military until 1976 so didn't find it out.

(I actually wrote down the routing as BPK - MID - Ibsley , but I am sure it was the other way around i.e heading into east Anglia)

Wasn't reported in East Anglia Slogin nor have I seen it mentioned in overflights of the London area. That ,of course, doesn't mean it didn't happen! You mention the colour blue and my immediate thoughts were of the Pa ANG Connies of the 193 TEWS which had blue cheat lines. I also remember seeing one which had "06" at the end of its c/s! It so happens that 2 of their EC-121S's were operating from Ramstein in Sept/Oct and were supported by the units C-121C's at various times during that deployment. Could be that you saw one of these?

Thanks for checking

There was also a civil Connie in the UK at the same time - N11SR but that probably would have used its registration for the call sign.
