I noted 4 Canberras inside Marshalls hangar on the above date. Presumably they were the last of the Peruvian contract:-
XM263 (became 255)
XM276 (became 256)
XM279 (became 257)
and
XM278 (the spares aircraft which subsequently appeared dumped on the airfield).
The question is...does anyone know if any of these were carrying their FAP serials on that date?
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Alas Bob I was only 6 then, so can't answer that one.
I only ever photographed the T.4 nose on the dump in 2000, probably not long before it went to the scrappers
Did anyone photograph the B(I).8 on the dump?

hi,
according to UK Serials, which i'm sure you've checked, shows they were delivered between 10/77 and 7/78, I don't know when Marshalls received them but would they not have been carrying the G marks shown?
just a thought, regards,
dave...

According to http://www.bywat.co.uk/gallb8-5.html, Marshalls acquired them in 1974.
The same website has the fates of XM278/279 the other way round compared to UK serials, i.e. '278 went to FAP and '279 was (eventually) broken up at Cambridge.
It would appear that the G-52-xx class "B" registrations were applied for their test flights.

hi Bob,
thanks for the web site not see that one before, so I suppose it all depends on when the test flying started, XM263 would have been the closest del. 1977 a year after you saw it...

May be something for DVD1 - when it comes out. Yes, I know, early 2018 - but what do they call "early"?
