A-10 missing man formation at Fairford Airshow

A-10 missing man formation at Fairford Airshow

Can anybody remember which year it was that RIAT had a flypast by a group of A-10s that, if i remember rightly, did a missing man formation. I'm thinming either 97 or 98. I think it was the same year they had a Blacjack (Bison?) there.

It was the 1998 show. The 'Blackjack' was Ukrainian AF Tu-22M-3 'Backfire' '57' (red). The A-10 four-ship comprised 81-0962 81-0963,
81-0983 and 81-0991 (all coded 'SP') of the 81st FS/52nd FW.
