I remember hearing that 3 were temporarily based at Brize around that time, not sure how long for but remember seeing 1 on Brize approach from the end of the runway at Abingdon, the first time I ever saw one!

BARG has the following:

The E-3s were temporarily deployed here from Keflavik due to runway repair work at the latter.

31675 visited on 28/8
70354 visited on 2/9
70354 arrived on 5/9
50558 arrived on 6/9

The detachment ended on 15/9.

I guess this isn't the complete story as you can see from this it doesn't show three aircraft at Brize at the same time.
