Dutch NF-5 (IAT 1980)
Dutch NF-5 (IAT 1980)
I don't suppose anybody has got the serial of the Dutch NF-5A that took part in the flying display at the mentioned show?
Many thanks,
Many thanks,
Re: Dutch NF-5 (Newbury Air Fesival 1980)
The only Dutch NF-5A mentioned in the BARG check list was K-3028. The show that year was called the Newbury Air Festival and not IAT 1980, I vaguely remember that it was a fairly last minute change of venue.
Re: Dutch NF-5 (IAT 1980)
Just to throw a potential spanner in there....Scramble has this:
K-3021 NF-5A KLU 315 SQ Also logged as K-3028
Also in a post dated 27/08/2015 R1nger on FC gave a log of the show and posted:
My log for 1st June (Dutch NF-5A confirmed as K-3021)
Hth
Best regards
Simon

I think that is conclusive enough for it being K-3028. I, too, had K-3028 in my log - and dropped it having seen it the year before at IAT1979.
Incidentally, K-3021 was at IAT1983.

Re: Dutch NF-5 (IAT 1980)
I would also go with the barg list: K-3028
This link is fairly interesting and mentioned that the display was a singleton in 79/80 (alternatively K-3028 or K-3041) until they became "double Dutch" after 1980 and a different paint scheme.

(The barg list does have a typo XZ391 should be XX391)

Re: Dutch NF-5 (Newbury Air Festival 1980)
I still have the original show check list which was prepared by BARG and it was from that I answered the original query.
A bit of research on the net revealed that the show was originally planned to be at Bristol Filton but at a late stage moved to Greenham. This is why the show in 1980 was called the Newbury Air Festival and was not an IAT.
