Hi Adrian,
I saw this AAC formation on the 24/3/1993 viewing it from the Chilwell garrison in Nottingham heading in a northerly direction following the M1 motorway. Subsequent enquiries ascertained that the helicopters were from 9 Regiment heading back to Dishforth having participated in exercise 'African Eagle'. The exercise was held over central Wales between 11th - 22nd March of that year. 9 Regiment were based at 2 locations during the exercise Sennybridge and Nesscliffe camps and were using the following helicopters:

657 Squadron: Lynx AH.1/7s XZ678.L, XZ645.M & Gazelle AH.1s XW913.U, ZB672.V, XX419.W, & ......X

664 Squadron: Lynx AH.9 ZG914.G, ZG916.I, ZG917.J, ZG921.L & Gazelles XZ347.B, ZB691.C

672 Squadron: Lynx AH.9 ZF538.1, ZG886.3, ZG887.4, ZG885.5, ZG889.6, ZG919.7, ZG920.8, ZG922.9, ZG923.10

Obviously there is a difference in the relevant versions in reference to your list and the one that I have, but hope this helps.

Regards
Colin
