Missing Stratotankers - help please

Post by Razzor01 » Tue Nov 15, 2016 9:17 am

Hi all

I am trying to track down a few missing KC-135's, if anyone knows their fate I would be grateful.

60-0338 KC-135Q Last seen at Rome Air Development Centre, Newport, NY - is it still here (in bits) ?

60-0369 GNC-135A ?

60-0378 C-135A Tinker AFB, BDR, is it still here, if so where on the airfield ?

61-0330 EC-135E Kirkland AFB, NM, is it still here, if so where on the airfield / range ?

Many thanks.

Found on airliners.Net - This aircraft served for twelve years as an Airborne Nuclear Weapons Monitor Platform (as an NC-135A) before being retired to Chanute as a GNC-135A Maintenance Trainer for student technicians. When Chanute closed the aircraft was cut in half with the forward fuselage going to Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a Fire Training Aid. After reclaim of engines and other parts the remainder of the airframe was scrapped on site.

60-0338 is still there though it is split between Newport and Stockbridge
Forward fuselage is at Newport, with the wings and rear fuselage at Stockbridge
