Ex RAF Aircraft engineer saying hi
18 years in the RAF as an Airframe Techie. Mostly on 11 sqn Leeming Tonka f3s, 4 Sqn Harriers and 27 Sqn Chinooks. Loved every minute of it. Leeming, Marham, St Athan, Laarbruch, Cottesmore, Wittering, Odiham.

No mate. I did RFA Argus and that was it. They were just going to Afghan when I was compassionately posted back to Harriers.effects wrote:Okay, I arrived on 18 in 2002, did you go to kuwait?
I have lots of mates at Odiham still and going to my mates wedding this weekend (Squeeler) if you know him. WO Cunny will be there, as will Goaty, Taz and a few more (if you know them??)
Couple of photos for you guys....

Hi Again, Jason
Had the chequerboard bib on my 1302S, the towel rails and white walls on my 1200, along with those lovely chrome domes, the wooden boot rack on my 1300A (was a pig to fit correctly); I could go on, but.....
Best 'accessory' I ever purchased was a copy of John Muir's bible on all things air-cooled
Did ALL the servicing myself, with his help, and an endless supply of Assam tea
Cheers

Greetings Jason
Nice to see a few ex mil hanging around here (especially 'Riggers'). You done better than me with your postings - I got dumped up in the farthest reaches of the UK, on the 'Kipper fleet', and shoved in a maintenance bay for good measure! Kinloss was dead as a Dodo, back then in the late 90's.

Hi Jason
When were you at Laarbruch, and which Sqn (or ASF)?
I was by the Dutch border, past the golf course on 20, times 86-89
