Hello from the north east Suffolk coast

Post by bones13 » Sat Jan 20, 2018 10:14 am

Hello everyone just thought I would introduce myself. I've been interested in aviation since a child but nothing too serious. My father took me to Duxford Battle of Britain air show when I was far too young to really appreciate it all. That was probably 40 years ago. In my adult life I attended the Mildenhall air shows of the late 90's and probably till the final show at the turn of this century. The most memorable moments being the B2 spirit, and the F117a Nighthawk in the sky together, and the monster B1 Bomber. Recently my interest has grown by finding flight radar 24 app, then adbs exchange, and now I subscribe to 360radar. Its interesting to track military air activities especially in my region I didn't realise there was so much going on . From my home I can see flights from Europe pass overhead inbound to Mildenhall. I found this out only a few months ago. I hope to build upon this by using a scanner in the future.
I found fighter control from mentions on Twitter. So far I'm finding that I actually know very little and everyone on here is far more informed and experienced in the aviation field. I may be a bit uneducated for this forum. I am seeing many abbreviations and things that I don't understand. I hoping that I will quickly pick thing up and not ask too many silly questions.

Welcome bones13, this is a nice and friendly forum with some very knowledgeable folk who are willing to share and educate us mere mortals, you'll enjoy yourself I would imagine.
I'll be down your way in a few weeks, spending some time very close to Minsmere..

Welcome Bones13

You have chosen a great forum here. We have all had to learn, so don't be afraid to ask any questions

I see you are nearby. I'm in Oulton Broad. As you say we are in a good place for overhead traffic. Just wish we had more F15 action over here as they are my favourite

Enjoy your hobby and FC and happy spotting

Cheers

Martin

I'm in Oulton Broad.???

Wrong forum? FC stands for Fighter Control not Fish & Chips :)

Watch out for red snappers.

In Oulton Broard.... someone had to take it literally ha ha. Martin I am actually in Oulton so not far from you at all. Heard some F15 about overhead one evening recently but obviously no visual on that.
